How much of an impact can one man make on a website? The JBWere Masters found out over the last four days when an unprecedented number of people viewed the website. On Friday alone, the website had 97,500 visits which equates to more than one person visiting the site every second of the day in a 24 hour period.

To put that in context the 2008 Australian Masters had 11,500 visits for the entire tournament which was surpassed by 7:30am on Thursday morning, the first day of the tournament. As popular as Tiger was, it was the new ideas that IMG Sports Technology Group had implemented that were the most popular pages on the site.

These pages included a live top 10 leaderboard, an interactive flash course guide, a tag heuer clock that showed an analogue clock of the current time, a scrolling news feed of all stories syndicated from news services around the world and the Nikon shot of the day. These pages alone counted for 38% of page views on the site.

The site and these ideas were designed and implemented by IMG Sports Technology Groups design division in consultation with the JBWere masters organisers. IMG Sports Technology Group also provides website functionality to Swimming Australia and affiliated states, Little Athletics Australia and affiliated states and the Victorian Diving Association.
